Camping and cabins
Newly renovated, the Chewacla State Park cabins are beautiful stone cottages. Central heating and air conditioning, along with fully-equipped kitchens, are amazing modern-day conveniences featured in the cabins. However, there are also campgrounds for RVs and tents that are close to shower and bathroom facilities. Dogs are allowed, so your entire family can go on vacation; just make sure to keep your pet on a leash.
Activities
Canoes and pedal boats are available for rent at Chewacla State Park. Bring your own boat or small water craft (only hand launched and no gasoline motor), and sail on Lake Chewacla. Fishing is an option as well, but you must have a valid Alabama fishing license. Walk or bike up to the Chewacla Dam waterfall on one of the eight trails in the park.
Renting a cabin or camping can bring entertainment to your entire family. From the younger kids playing at the playground to the older kids biking on the trails, there is something for every member of your family at Chewacla State Park in Alabama.
