Chickasaw State Park

Tennessee is known for its great entertainment and wonderful scenery, and Chickasaw State Park is no exception. People come from all over to experience the beautiful outdoors. The park is located in the forests of Tennessee, about 20 miles away from Jackson, Tennessee.
The park layout
This natural and protected park covers over 14,000 acres, about 1,200 acres of which are used for recreational purposes. The vast majority of the park is timberlands that are watched over by the State Forestry Division. Within this larger park are a few smaller areas that are broken down into smaller groups. These include Shiloh Military Park, Pinson Mound State Park and the Casey Jones Museum.
Recreational use
There is a lot that a person can do while visiting this grand park. Some of the main activities that people enjoy are hiking, biking, fishing and camping. The park offers many sites where people can camp and stay as they please. Visitors can camp in a tent or stay in an RV park with their families. There are also several cottages that are rented out for vacationers who would rather stay in a more comfortable setting. There are more activities than a person can handle in one trip, including horseback riding, swimming, picnicking, basketball and tennis courts, and there is even a 100 seat restaurant available.
Chickasaw State Park is a wonderful place for the whole family to enjoy. Visitors can take a trip for the day or have an extended stay for as long as they like. Either way, there is so much to do here that it is impossible for anyone to get bored.
