Lake Lurleen State Park

Lake Lurleen State Park is located in Alabama and is named after Alabama's first female governor, Lurleen Wallace. The park covers 1,675 acres of land and includes a 250 acre lake. It is open year round and offers a number of exciting activities for visitors.

Lake Lurleen

The lake itself is Lake Lurleen State Park's number one attraction. The lake is a prime destination for fishing and is stocked with catfish, crappie, bream and bass. Paddle boats, canoes and fishing boats are available for rental for a closer experience of the lake. Swimming is also allowed in a special roped off section.

Camping

There are 91 campsites in Lake Lurleen State Park. All of the camping sites have water and electric hook ups and 35 of the sites have sewage drain connections. Pets are allowed and welcome on the camping grounds, but you must keep them leashed at all times. Camping fees are available at daily, weekly and monthly rates.

Hiking and picnicking

Lake Lurleen State Park contains almost 20 miles of trails and is a popular destination for individuals interested in hiking on foot or mountain biking. These trails offer you a great way to experience the beauty of the park. Picnic areas contain numerous tables and pedestal charcoal grills.
